Only 1,525 DLs cancelled in 5 years despite digital efforts to curb violations

In the past five years, only 1,525 driving licenses were cancelled for traffic violations nationwide, with Tamil Nadu accounting for half of these. This low number contrasts sharply with a mere handful of cancellations in states like Delhi, Bengal, Haryana, and Maharashtra. Road transport minister Nitin Gadkari highlighted these figures, indicating that challenges remain in digital enforcement.
