New Delhi railway station stampede: Government says 49,000 tickets were sold on February 15

A month after a stampede at New Delhi railway station that killed 18, the government revealed 49,000 general tickets were sold on February 15, significantly higher than the average. This spike led to the operation of five special trains. The Railways minister detailed the ticket issuance system in response to a Lok Sabha query about the unusual ticket sales.
