Security forces dismantle illegal check posts in Manipur amid rising tensions

IndiaTimes Sunday, 16 February 2025
Joint security forces in Manipur have dismantled illegal check posts set up by 'village volunteers' on Imphal-Churachandpur road to ensure free movement of vehicles. The conflict between Meitei and Kuki-Zo communities since May 2023 has caused over 250 deaths. Security measures increased post-President's Rule, and an FIR was filed over fraudulent calls to legislators.
