Passport with court, NRI manages to flee to US, Supreme Court orders his arrest

An NRI, Manish Chhokar, left India for the US despite a Supreme Court order restricting his travel and having his passport deposited. He was charged with contempt for not complying with a custody order involving his 10-year-old son. The court issued a non-bailable warrant and directed the Centre to investigate his escape and arrest him.
