Maharashtra stalls issuing delayed birth certificates amid illegal migrants row

Maharashtra has suspended issuance of birth and death certificates applied for over a year old amid investigations into thousands of suspected fraudulent claims by Bangladeshi and Rohingya immigrants. The policy change follows BJP allegations and the formation of a probe team by the state home department.
