The elephant crossed into Tripura and is now in the custody of forest officials after ownership disputes arose. Atikur has provided documentation and hopes for a legal resolution to reunite with Chandratara. The case is set to be heard on January 21.

NYPD Officer Didarul Islam, 36, was killed while confronting a gunman in a deadly Midtown Manhattan shooting on Monday evening. The Bangladeshi immigrant officer died heroically defending New Yorkers inside a skyscraper near Rockefeller Centre. The shooter, 27-year-old Shane Tamura, killed four—including Islam—before turning the gun on himself.
