HC gives Madhya Pradesh govt six weeks to act on Union Carbide factory waste with caution

IndiaTimes Monday, 6 January 2025
The Madhya Pradesh High Court granted six weeks to the state for the Union Carbide factory waste disposal under safety guidelines. The court also banned incorrect media reporting. This follows unrest in Pithampur over the waste's relocation. In 1984, a gas leak at the factory caused massive casualties and ongoing health issues.
