Sri Lankan Navy detains 17 fishermen from Ramanathapuram

In the early hours of Tuesday, the Sri Lankan Navy detained 17 fishermen from Ramanathapuram and seized their fishing boats for allegedly fishing in Sri Lankan territorial waters. The fishermen were taken to Talaimannar Pier for legal proceedings. Tamil Nadu BJP president K Annamalai has urged the Indian External Affairs Minister to facilitate their repatriation.
