'Everything in offering box goes into god's account': Minister after devotee drops iPhone accidentally

The temple authorities and the HR&CE minister refused to return it, stating that anything offered belongs to the deity. While the minister acknowledged the accidental nature, he cited temple rules and traditions. A similar incident involving a gold chain was resolved with a personal donation from a temple official.
