UP govt merges 3 streams of Ganga into 1 at Sangam ahead of Mahakumbh

This reverses the river's natural course alteration, simplifying pilgrim access and improving water purity. Dredging, despite initial challenges with strong currents, enabled the merging, centralizing bathing for the expected 40 crore devotees.
