Bangladesh junks India's bandwidth supply transit plan for northeastern states

Bangladesh's internet regulator has withdrawn its plan to allow bandwidth transit to India's northeastern states. The regulator fears this could hinder Bangladesh's own potential as a regional internet hub. The proposal involved Summit Communications and Fiber@Home, linked to a prominent ruling party member, supplying bandwidth from Singapore via the Akhaura border to Bharti Airtel.
