India & China to talk border de-escalation in coming days: EAM Jaishankar

External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar informed Parliament that peace along the border is essential for improved relations with China. He reiterated China's illegal occupation of 38,000 sq km of Aksai Chin and Pakistan's ceding of 5,180 sq km of Indian territory to China. India remains committed to bilateral talks to resolve the boundary issue and achieve a mutually acceptable settlement.
