The Minister confirmed that the flight, carrying 242 passengers, issued a mayday signal moments after takeoff before losing contact with air traffic control. The aircraft, which had flown from Paris to Delhi and onward to Ahmedabad, crashed just 2 km from the airport in Medhani Nagar.
