Taking photo of woman in public is not voyeurism: HC

IndiaTimes Tuesday, 5 November 2024
The Kerala High Court ruled that taking photographs of a woman in front of her house does not constitute voyeurism under Section 354C of the IPC, as it is a public space where privacy is not typically expected. However, the court stated that such actions could potentially fall under sexual harassment charges (Section 354A) and insulting the modesty of a woman (Section 509) depending on the evidence presented.
