J&K: Terrorists open fire on security forces in Bandipora, encounter underway

Acting on credible intelligence, the forces launched a search operation, leading to a confrontation when terrorists opened fire. In a separate incident near Sopore, a suspected terrorist associate, Ashiq Hussain Wani, was apprehended with a pistol and ammunition.
