Seers’ body to replace Urdu words with Sanskrit terms for Mahakumbh

The Akhil Bharatiya Akhara Parishad has decided to replace Urdu and Mughal-era terms traditionally used in Mahakumbh rituals, viewing them as symbols of subjugation. This change will impact words like 'shahi' and 'peshwai'. Following Madhya Pradesh's lead, the council aims to eliminate non-Hindi and non-Sanskrit terms from the Mahakumbh scheduled for January 2025 in Prayagraj.
