Darjeeling civic body says Nepali language must in hoardings

The Darjeeling Municipality has issued a new rule requiring all hoardings to be displayed in Nepali, following a directive from Gorkhaland Territorial Administration chief Anith Thapa. Businesses can still use other languages but must include Nepali. Non-compliance will result in fines or license cancellations, aiming to strengthen cultural ties and promote the language.
