From crisis to sales, Karnataka makes powerful turnaround

Karnataka transformed from a power-deficient state in late 2023 to a power-surplus state in 2024, selling Rs 1,403 crore worth of power. Daily, Karnataka returns 20 million units to Punjab and Uttar Pradesh. Energy Minister KJ George credited timely measures and a good monsoon for this turnaround, with significant profits reported from major thermal plants.
