'They told us they were the Syrian army': CCTV shows hospital volunteer being shot dead at point-blank range
Monday, 11 August 2025 () Sky News has obtained shocking CCTV from inside the main hospital in the city of Sweida in southern Syria - where our team found more than 90 corpses laid out in the grounds following a week of intense fighting.
Israeli forces launched multiple ground incursions into Syria’s southwestern Quneitra province, setting up checkpoints, searching residents, and deploying tanks before withdrawing hours later. According to Syrian state media, IDF convoys entered several towns, breaching the 1974 ceasefire agreement that established a buffer zone near the occupied Golan Heights. Damascus and its allies accuse Israel of exploiting Syria’s instability for territorial gains. The United Nations has condemned repeated Israeli violations, warning they risk escalating regional tensions and destabilizing the volatile Syria–Israel border.
