Deadly crush at Gaza aid site after new system implemented
Wednesday, 16 July 2025 () Twenty one people have been killed following a crush at an aid distribution site in Gaza, according to local health officials.
At least 20 Palestinians were killed on Wednesday at an aid distribution site run by the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation, in what the U.S.-backed group said was a crowd surge instigated by armed agitators. This video contains graphic images. Zachary Goelman produced this report.
Yemen's Houthi rebels (Ansarallah) have claimed responsibility for launching another significant missile attack toward southern Israel, triggering massive panic and sounding major air-raid sirens across the region. The group stated the attack was carried out in "solidarity with the people of Gaza." The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed the launch and announced that its air defence systems were activated, successfully intercepting the inbound missile before it could hit its target.
This latest strike is part of a sustained campaign by the Houthis, who have vowed that such attacks will continue until Israel ends its military offensive and blockade of the Gaza Strip. According to reports, Ansarallah has fired over 50 missiles and drones toward Israel since the conflict resumed, frequently targeting critical infrastructure like the Ben Gurion Airport in previous attempts. This raises the critical question: Is Israel now fighting a three-front war, facing threats from Gaza, the north, and now consistently from Yemen?
The attack comes amidst a volatile situation in the wider region. Israel has recently intensified its own strikes on Houthi targets in Yemen in response to their persistent attacks on international shipping in the Red Sea. In a major act of retaliation, the Houthis recently sank the UK-registered Magic Sea ship, a move that dealt a significant blow to global trade and maritime security. This video breaks down the latest missile attack, the successful Israeli interception, and the escalating cycle of violence that is pushing the Middle East to the brink.
