'Blade split my hand wide open': Police officer slashed in Hainault sword attack speaks out
Thursday, 26 June 2025 () The officer who confronted Marcus Monzo during his deadly rampage in Hainault has described how his hand was sliced open by the killer's samurai sword, saying: "The blade went very, very deep, cutting through all the tendons, all the muscles and all the nerves."
A sword attacker has been jailed for life with a minimum term of 40 years for murder and attacking three more members of the public and two police officers.
