In a move condemned by Palestinians and rights groups, Israel has approved 22 new Jewish settlements in the occupied West Bank—marking the largest such expansion in over 30 years. Some of the outposts will be legalized retroactively, while others are entirely new. Ministers Katz and Smotrich claim it’s a strategic step to prevent a Palestinian state.
