Tuesday, 27 May 2025 A man who was among the dozens injured when a car drove through a crowd at Liverpool's Premier League trophy parade has told Sky News how he pleaded with the driver to stop before he was struck and sent "spinning".

The funeral proceedings of the late football players Diogo Jota and his brother Andre Silva took place in the church of Gondomar in their hometown in the east of Porto. Family members, teammates and coaches joined thousands of mourners to pay their final respects to the Silva brothers.

The mayor of Liverpool City Region shared his "devastation" at the news adding, "it's a loss to football and it's a loss to Liverpool Football Club, but it's an unbelievable loss to his family".
