Veteran who lost three brothers in WW2 hopes VE Day offers people the chance to 'learn from history'
Wednesday, 7 May 2025 () A 101-year-old veteran, who has never publicly talked about her wartime experience, wants the VE Day 80th anniversary events to be a chance to reflect on the "unnecessary" conflicts we see today that she says are driven by "pure greed".
Sir Keir Starmer led the departures from the VE Day service on Thursday. The prime minister was accompanied by his wife Victoria as they left Westminster Abbey following the World War II commemorations.
