Couple and adult son 'died after generator issue' during Spain-Portugal blackout
Tuesday, 29 April 2025 () Two parents and their adult son are said to have died from carbon monoxide poisoning after using a generator during the blackout that hit Spain and Portugal this week, according to local reports.
Thousands stranded as power outage hits Iberian Peninsula
Emergency services handed out food, water and blankets to stranded travellers at Madrid’s Atocha station on Monday evening, after a widespread blackout brought much of Spain and Portugal to a standstill.
