The death toll in Gaza has surpassed 55,000 amid relentless Israeli airstrikes and ground offensives, according to the Gaza Health Ministry. Over half of the casualties are women and children, with tens of thousands more wounded or missing. Israel claims to target militants, but civilian suffering is immense. Hostages remain held, aid is blocked, and Netanyahu insists the war will continue until Hamas is eradicated.
