Diamond necklace linked to Marie Antoinette's downfall sells for £3.7m
Thursday, 14 November 2024 A necklace believed to contain jewels from the infamous Marie Antoinette "Affair of the Diamond Necklace" has been sold for £3.7m.
Composed of approximately 300 carats of old mine-cut diamonds, the historic piece was once worn during royal coronations and is rumoured to hold ties to the scandal that tainted Marie Antoinette’s reputation.
