Muriel McKay's family want Met chief to intervene as they call for killer to be allowed to help with search
Sunday, 21 July 2024 The police search for the remains of murdered Muriel McKay is being extended into a second week today - with her family planning a last-minute appeal for help to Scotland Yard commissioner Sir Mark Rowley.
A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a woman and three children died in a house fire in north-west London.
A 43-year-old woman, and one girl, aged 15, and two boys aged eight and four-years-old, died, in Tillett Close, Stonebridge, the Metropolitan Police said. Police had previously said the three children were all boys.
Their next-of-kin have been informed, the force added.

Eight men, including seven Iranian nationals, have been arrested in two unconnected counter-terrorism operations, the Metropolitan Police has confirmed.
Five were held over an alleged plot to attack a single premises, while three others were arrested under national security laws. Commander Dominic Murphy called the operations “significant” and said the arrests were made to “keep the public safe”. All suspects remain in custody. Report by Covellm.
