Update given on health condition of Slovakia's PM - as suspect in court over attempted assassination
Saturday, 18 May 2024 Slovakia's Prime Minister Robert Fico remains in a stable but serious condition as the man accused of attempting to assassinate him appeared in court for the first time.
Slovakia’s Prime Minister Robert Fico was shot multiple times in an assassination attempt after a government meeting Wednesday and is in a life-threatening condition in hospital. The shooting took place after an off-site government meeting in Handlova.

The rallies in Bratislava and five other cities are part of a wave of protests that was fuelled by Prime Minister Robert Fico's trip to Moscow in December for talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
