IC 814: Former RAW chief admits to goof-ups

On December 24, 1999, flight IC 814, en route from Kathmandu to Delhi, was hijacked by five terrorists upon entering Indian airspace. The plane landed in Amritsar for refueling and was held there for 50 minutes, during which time the authorities, including the Punjab Police and central intelligence forces, failed to capitalize on the opportunity
